Here are some of our favourite places to go. A lot of these need booking ahead, so we’ve marked these with a ^ to note this.

Lionness of Leith ^ - Good for local beers and serves GREAT burgers and chicken strips.
Malt and Hops - A popular pub down at the Shore serving beer and wine. Expect typical pub vibes and live folk and Jazz throughout the week.
Newbarns - A lovely little pub attached to a local brewery and serves lots of locally brewed beers.
Leith Depot^ - Lively place for drinks and dinner, often has live music playing so check out their listings.
Nobles^ - Bar and restaurant on Constitution Street in a beautifully preserved venue.
Mother Superior - Busy whisky bar that also serves the best margaritas in Leith; often plays folk music at the weekend.
Roseleaf ^ - A quirky and cosy venue -down at the Shore. Good for a reasonably-priced dinner too.
The Bowler’s Rest - A real mix of Leith with slolwarts and newbies alike - nice for a pint and a cheese toastie or hot dog.
Nauticus^ - Scottish-themed cocktail bar, run locally with Scottish-based twists on drinks and local beer. Famed for their crisp platters too ;). They also own the Finch and Dogstar so check those out.
The Central Bar - Classic venue - venture if you dare! The tiling inside is detailed and ornate, unlike the clientele (albeit very friendly). Likely the cheapest G&T in Leith.
The King’s Wark^ - Friendly and cosy pub and restaurant. Perfect place for a candle-lit meal and sharing a bottle of wine.
Barry Fish^ - Recently opened trendy fish restaurant. Book ahead as it's popular!
Teuchters - This a branch of two they have in Edinburgh. Harty and usual pub grub with little flare. Always a guaranteed good meal.
The Shore - Local seafood restaurant and upmarket pub serving great fish pies and Oysters!
Browns of Leith - A new food and drink hall at the Shore in an old warehouse, with a good wine selection, lots of seating, seafood and Ceverinos pizza. Expect hipster vibes. Also does breakfast.

- Pizza - Razzo Pizza
- Kebab - Leith Shawarma
Cakes / pastries - The Pastry Section, Scillian Bakery (get there early), Haze at Browns of Leith or any of the million coffee shops in Leith!
Coffee - ten a plenty around Leith and the Shore - some favourites are takeaway Havana, William and Jonson, Toast on the Shore.
For breakfast in the morning: Clock on the Shore, Toast, Rocksalt or Roseleaf do a good breakfast.
Chez Jules - An Edinburgh institution and always great atmosphere. Steak and fries for under £20! Book ahead.
Kapow - Amazing small plate Asian fusion place, cosy venue. Can normally walk in.
Outsider - Great place for Scottish food. Brilliant location and great views of the castle if you get the right table. Book ahead.
The Voyage of Buck - Cosy little place and sister of Devil's Advocate (nice whisky bar and restaurant). Might need to book.
Baba - Middle eastern inspired mezze plates and not too expensive. Book ahead.
